Asalaamu alaykum,
At the end of this week I will travel to the Maldives at the gracious invitation of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs of the government of the Maldives, inshallah. Please pray that this visit will be a success. It marks the beginning of a series of foreign visits, before I settle down again in Egypt for Ramadan, inshallah.
One of the most common topics that people write to me about or ask me to speak about is how to tell others, especially others in the West, about Islam. You might like to read a new article which has been added to the website this week which deals with this:
- The ABC's of Dawah (Muslim Youth section)
Another focus of my work is with those new to Islam. Muslims have a great duty to take care of those people who have embraced Islam later in life. It is easy to say words, but living Islam is a lifetime's work. There is another article here about whether or not people should rely on translations of the Quran to learn about Islam:
- Reading the Quran in English (Muslims Believe section)
Arabic readers might also like to take a look at this newly translated article about Prophet Muhammad (pbuh):
- أفضل مثال للشباب اليوم
For the rest of this week I am recording TV programmes for Ramadan, inshallah.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan
Idris Tawfiq
