Latest News 3rd October 2011
Asalaamu alaykum,
I was delighted this week to meet once more the charming Anglican Bishop of Egypt, Dr Mouneer Anis, and to spend two hours talking about matters of faith and about the crying need for an honest dialogue between people of faith.
Dialogue between peoples was also the theme when I met Denmark's Ambassador to Egypt, Christian Hoppe, at the Danish Embassy in Cairo.
As we remember this week the anniversary of the October 1973 War, it reminds us all that dialogue works best when it is a dialogue of equals. People are more inclined to listen to what we have to say if they see that we are strong, not weak.
On a different note, you might like to take a look at this most recent article of mine in Egyptian Mail.

Finally, I cannot fail to mention the great welcome I received when I visited Mansoura for a talk last week. I look forward very much to the next visit, inshallah.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan
